On Wednesday, we drove to "The Slabs" over near Niland, CA. On the way, we stopped at one of the state parks on the Salton Sea.

This was the first time I have seen a beach made of barnacles!
Just before The Slabs is Salvation Mountain.
Then we got to Slab City or 'The Slabs'.

This is The Oasis, note the patio chairs.
Some areas were clean and very much like Quartzsite...
But others were unbelievably junky.
It was truly an interesting day!
